New OPS facility for Port of Motril at quays Costa and Levante commissioned by Port Authority

Official Journey published first of August formal signing of contract granted by Port Authority of Motril for the provision of electricity supply facility at quays Muelle de Costa and Muelle de Levante (BOE 192 on Saturday the 12th August 2017).

Port Authority by taking this initiative aims at making the Port sustainable, taking environmental regulations into account so that air quality is improved, on board staying is made more comfortable while vessels are at berth, and noise and vibrations are reduced.

Project activities includes among others, a new electric conduit for electric cable on low voltage from a transformer centre to both connecting points at quays Muelle de Costa and Muelle de Levante; also said transformer centre will be upgraded from existing capacity of 630 KVA to 1,250 KWA from where vessels VOLCAN DE TINAMAR y VOLCÁN DE TIMANFAYA will be supplied an estimated annual energy power of more than 3,5 GWh.
