01/04/2020 Commission launched a public consultation concerning the Revision of the Directive 2014/94/EU on the Deployment of Alternative Fuels Infrastructure (AFID).
On-shore power supply to ships at berth in both, maritime and inland ports, is covered by Directive 2014/94/EU.
Amid reflections included in the questionnaire, Commission invites to select which is the best instrument for a rapid uptake of AFID, whether National Policy Frameworks or mandatory deployment targets. Also Commission asks whether it is necessary to further ensure technical interoperability between AFID including level of power capacity, information provision to users, etc.
